CA eHealth provides sophisticated performance monitoring for your network infrastructure, polling each device on the network, typically with SNMP, to gather relevant statistics. EHealth can then notify administrators of any issues it finds, and can detect anomalies based on past events and can help pinpoint why those anomalies exist. With Opalis, you can automate use of eHealth's historical data and automated reporting capabilities and automate the tasks of calculating long-term trends, baselining network resources, and providing performance reports for critical network components such as backbones, server clusters, and Internet links services.
Opalis lets you automate eHealth physical or logical device (element) discovery, operating status, retire monitored elements and run reports on the environment, including generating reports for:

  • Trends - plot variables and elements and identify trends
  • At-a-Glance - examine key metrics for problem elements
  • Top N - specify different that share the same performance characteristics( eg. top 10 servers that have 90% CPU utilization)
  • What-If - change various assumptions to determine how they affect performance eg. adjust demand of an element and observe affect of those changes in the report
  • Service Levels - provide level information (eg. availability, latency, resource utilization) for a region, department, or business unit
